Star Ladder VII – All 3 Stages of The Rubick Resonant Vibrance Set

Every year the Star Ladder tournament for Dota 2 comes with a new item that can be upgraded by watching the tournament through the Dota 2 client. Two years ago the free item was a ‘Grill Hound Courier‘, last year it was a ‘Star Ladder HUD’, and this year it is of course the ‘Rubick Resonant Vibrance Set‘. When you purchase the set you will also get a ticket to watch all 120 games on the Dota 2 client, if you purchase the ticket you will need to get your hands on the set by trading or steam community market.

This years star ladder is the first major tournament since The International 2013 ended, and also includes both Alliance and Na’Vi (The finalists from The International 2013). This tournament ends at a LAN final in Kiev where we could once again see Na’Vi Vs. Alliance, which is something that you will not want to miss.

New Dota2 Courier – Waldi the Faithful (Legendary)

This is the latest (and only) courier to be added to Dota2 during the latest update. Waldi the Faithful is a very funny courier and is one of the most original couriers to appear on Dota2 yet. While Waldi the Faithful is without his wings he will chase after a sausage on a stick dangling in-front of his face, but as soon as he is upgraded into a flying courier the sausage he was once chasing becomes a blimp for the dog carrying him to his destination.

The Latest 14 Hero Sets

The update finally arrived last night, bringing lots of new equipment and sets for everyone to buy. These new sets are some of the best ones I have seen in a while, and as more people play the game these sets will get better and better as more people start to create their own. The new sets are for the following heroes: Bloodseeker, Drow, Morphling, NYX Assassin, Ogre Magi, Phantom Assassin, Pudge, Queen of Pain, Riki, Rubick , Slark , Spectre, Templar Assassin and Skeleton King. What does ‘CS’ stand for in Dota2?

During ti3 the commentators kept commenting on players CS, however they never actually mentioned what CS meant. You could tell from the context that CS was being used in, that it must refer to the last hits and denies the players had been getting on creeps through out the lane stage. Simply then CS stands for Creep Score and is the last hits and denies accumulated through out the game. Casters will focus on pro players CS through out the first 5-15 minutes of pro games because it allows us to tell how well the lane faze is going to a certain extent.

A player who can generate a large amount of CS in short period of time will usually be a hard carry for a team. These hard carrys that manage to get 100+ CS in 10 minutes or less are aided by their supports, by pulling creeps and double stacking neutrals. So don’t feel to bad when you can’t manage to generate the same CS as the pros do, especially when you are in a random public match with people you have never met before.

New ESWC Crystal HUD

Purchasing a Electronic Sports World Cup (ESWC) tournament ticket in the Dota2 client will give you a free ‘Crystal HUD’. The ticket costs just £5.99 and will allow you to watch all of the games through the Dota2 client. Watching the games through the client rather than on Twitch.tv has many benefits such as no adverts or lag. The tournaments details can be found by clicking the tournaments tab above and clicking Electronic Sports World Cup.
